NEW FLIGHTS BOOST AIR CONNECTIVITY FROM JAIPUR

Air connectivity from Jaipur has taken a quantum leap in July and is set to improve further in the coming days.

Jet Airways is launching three new direct daily flights to Indore, Lucknow and Udaipur from July 16. The Indore-Jaipur flight will depart at 1.40 pm while the return flight from Jaipur is at 4.20 pm. The Jaipur-Lucknow flight will depart at 3.50 pm and reach Lucknow at 5.20 pm. The Jaipur-Udaipur flight will leave at 4 pm and the return flight is at 5.25 pm.

Air India’s regional airline Alliance Air has launched its first flight to Lucknow. The flight leaves for Lucknow from Jaipur at 5.55 am daily while the return flight is at 6.10 pm. The flight has been launched under the regional connectivity plan and the fare starts from ₹2,000.

Low-budget carrier SpiceJet has launched new daily flights to Guwahati and Hyderabad from Jaipur. The airlines has also launched daily flights to Agartala (via Guwahati) and six-day week flight to Vishakhapatnam (via Hyderabad). SpiceJet has also launched Jaipur-Tirupati flight (via Hyderabad) that departs every Saturday.

Jaipur airport director J S Balhara said that the new flights will go a long way in improving air connectivity from Jaipur. At present, there are 48 daily domestic flights and seven international flights from Jaipur and with the introduction of new flights, the total number of daily flights will go up to 51.

In March this year, officials of the state civil aviation department and union civil aviation department had an agreement to improve regional air connectivity. Under this agreement, flights will be launched between Jaipur and Jaisalmer, Jaipur and Agra and Delhi and Bikaner.

The state government had in the last budget announced air connectivity between Jaipur and Ranthambore.
