PASSENGER AFTAB AHMED ALSO INJURED FELLOW PASSENGERS AND CREW WHEN THEY TRIED TO STOP HIM

A man tried to force open the emergency door of a flight before it could land at Ranchi airport on Monday night. He had boarded the AirAsia flight from Delhi.

The 32-year-old passenger identified as Aftab Ahmed also injured a few fellow passengers and members of the flight crew when they tried to stop him. Ahmed, a resident of Ranchi, was overpowered and handed over to the police at Ranchi after the flight landed safely.

The Air Asia flight (I5-546) had taken off from Delhi and was headed towards Kolkata via Ranchi. At around 9.50pm, Ahmed who was seated on 24-A suddenly tried to force open one of the emergency doors (R2) of the flight.

There have been several cases of unruly passengers in the recent past. In April, a passenger had to be tied down to his seat while travelling to Delhi from Dubai as he turned violent soon after the plane took off.

In May, a Russian tourist, who wanted to open the door of a Delhi-bound plane mid-air, was whisked away by the police as the flight landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). The tourist was later fined by court for attempting to open the door of the plane from Moscow as it approached the Capital, scaring the passengers and sending the air crew into a tizzy. Building a capital city can be a tough proposition, especially when we do not have a lot of resources, and this is why they have designated Hyderabad as a common capital for a period of 10 years. However, I decided that it would be very difficult to develop this area if I continued to stay in Hyderabad. Better to come here, start from scratch, and then move forward. This is how I started running this government There are so many people in the world who can give advice, but (political) sustenance is possible only if a leader has originality. He possesses media (organisations) – Sakshi TV and Sakshi paper. But does it matter? A newspaper can have articles, but people should believe it. I don’t have a paper, and I don’t have a channel. Every media is my channel. Why should I bother, then? I am focusing more on Rayalseema. It had been backward for so many years. Even Hyderabad was backward (before I took over). I developed Hyderabad, and I created an ecosystem. Today, because of (what I did), Not necessary. Modi is doing very well. We are part of NDA. When we are so fortunate to have such a strong leader in India, why should I have that idea? We want to make Digital In Andhra Pradesh, we do not have that problem. It’s irrelevant here.

We want to make Digital India a reality... Two very good reforms taken up by Centre are GST and demonetisation.
