RAJENDRA SINGH NANDU HAS SAID THE DISTRICT ASSOCIATION HAS A THREEMEMBER TRIBUNAL TO DECIDE ON ITS MATTERS

In a new development in the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) dispute between CP Joshi and Lalit Modi factions, the Joshi group on Wednesday appointed retired high court judge Shiv Kumar Sharma as sole arbitrator of the association and seized the power of RCA secretary, Rajendra Singh Nandu.

Nandu, who is also the secretary of Nagaur district cricket association, is considered a confidante of Lalit Modi. Refusing to accept the Joshi group’s order, Nandu said the district association has a three-member tribunal to decide on its matters.

Sharma, after his appointment as RCA arbitrator issued an order which said that Nandu is being restrained from disrupting the RCA functions. Now, RCA joint secretary Mahendra Nahar will work as the officiating secretary, the order stated.

On the other hand, Nandu said they (the Joshi group) cannot remove him or the Nagaur district cricket association, as the district association had constituted a three-member tribunal on July 8. “Since they appointed the arbitrator after this (date), as per constitution they cannot suspend the district body.” . “The appointment of arbitrator was unconstitutional and illegal,” he added.

“The arbitrator was appointed by the majority of executive committee members. It is totally as per the constitution,” joint secretary Mahendra Nahar said.
