the cases against Rajput leaders in the violence that took place in Sanvrad on Wednesday as ‘false’, the Rajputdominated Sarva Samaj Sangharsh Samiti Thursday demanding that the cases be withdrawn.

Giriraj Singh Lotwara, president of the Shree Rajput Sabha, said that 10 lakh Rajputs will march to Jaipur in protest against the government’s handling of the protest in Sanvrad, which turned violent leaving one person dead and 30 injured.

“We were conducting a peaceful protest. We had talks with the DG (jails) and he accepted nearly all of our demands. He even agreed to talk to the government for a CBI probe into the encounter. But then some hooligans who had entered the protest, disrupted the environment resulting in failure of the talks,” said Lotwara.

In a statement, the Sabha said that the way violence was ‘instigated’, just when a breakthrough was reached between the government and the protesters, was suspicious. It sought a high-level probe into the violence. It also demanded that ‘false’ cases against Rajputs be withdrawn and the nearly 200 members of the community taken in police custody be released.
