After ₹64L loot, SHOs fight over jurisdiction
Two SHOs got embroiled in an argument to decide the jurisdiction after a loot of ₹64 at Bajrang Garh circle on Wednesday.
The station house officers Vijendra Singh of Christian Ganj and BL Meena of Kotwali police station, kept arguing for over an hour to reach a conclusion.
CO North Rajesh Meena intervened and took the victims to Kesar Bag police post, under Kotwali police station, to probe the incident. “After being informed, police officials of the two police stations reached the spot to chalk out a strategy to nab the looters,” said CO North. He denied that the two SHOs had entered into an argument over jurisdiction .
According to witnesses, the SHOs refused to accept if the loot took place in their jurisdiction. “They did not pay any heed to the suggestions of the people, assembled at the site to raise barricades in the city to nab the looters”, claimed an eye witness.
According to sources, Ganesh and Arun Kumawat, members of ATM loading team of a private bank were taking ₹64 lakh to deposit the amount in an ATM of Chachiyawas. They said that when they were near Bajarangarh, another vehicle pushed them and before they could balance, they found that the money was missing. The traffic constable on the spot informed the police control rooms and sent the message to all police stations.
Meanwhile, Kotwali police has started a probe into the incident. “We have launched a drive to nab the looters and we are also questioning both the employees. They are under our suspicion”, said Meena. A man divorced his wife by uttering ‘talaq’ thrice on the phone in Jaisalmer following which she approached the Rajasthan Women Commission.
The woman was married to Sabir Mohammad three years ago in Jodhpur, but had returned to her parents’ home after two years alleging that she was harassed by her in-laws, Sudha Purohit, a member of Rajasthan Women Commission, said.
The couple has a one-year-old daughter.
