BJP national president Amit Shah’s three-day Rajasthan visit is aimed at strengthening party organisations further to ensure that it continues to rule for decades, BJP state unit chief Ashok Parnami said on Thursday.

Shah will arrive in Jaipur on Friday, he said. During his stay, Shah will hold meetings with office-bearers across the BJP’s organisational chain apart from meeting the MLAs and MPs, Parnami told reporters at the party’s state headquarters here.

“During the ongoing tour, the party president has already covered 21 states. Today, there is BJP government at the centre and the government is being formed in number of states and the party wants to ensure that this trend should continue for decades. Shah’s visit should be seen in this context,” he said.

Discussions will also be held on achieving the party’s mission of bagging 25 Lok Sabha seats from Rajasthan in 2019 and mission 180 in the 2018 assembly election.

The BJYM cadres will lead a cavalcade in motorcycles from Jaipur airport and Shah will be accorded welcome at eight different places in the city.

En route, Shah will garland Mahatma Gandhi statue at Gandhi circle and also garland BR Ambedkar statute at Ambedkar circle, Parnami said.

Shah is scheduled to inaugurate party’s e-library. At 4 pm on Friday, Shah will address a gathering of prominent people from across the state at Birla auditorium. “Twenty prominent people from each district will take part in the event,” he said. In the evening, Shah will meet members of BJP IT and media cells.

On the morning of July 22, Shah will have an interaction with sadhu and sants followed by interaction with second-rung office bearers of the party. He will address a press conference at 2.30 pm at the state BJP office.

Shah will leave for Delhi on July 22 evening to attend farewell dinner of President Pranab Mukherjee and then will return to Jaipur at 11 pm, Parnami said.

On July 23, he will meet party state unit president and other senior office-bearers of different corporations and also the mayors. Shah will leave for Delhi on July 23 evening.

Shah’s visit is a part of his nationwide tour to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, with an eye to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
