MAN STABS GIRL TO DEATH OVER UNREQUITED LOVE, DETAINED

-

An 18-year-old girl, Vaishali Sharma, of Agarpura area in Banswara was stabbed to death by a neighbour, Jagdish, on Wednesday afternoon.

The accused allegedly stormed into her house around 12.30 pm and stabbed Vaishali in her neck multiple times till she died.

At the time of the attack, Vaishali was on the ground floor of her two-storied house with her domestic help while her father, Pinkesh Sharma, was on the first floor.

The domestic help tried to intervene with a stick but when she failed, she raised an alarm and Vaishali’s father and other residents rushed to the spot but by then the accused had fled.

On being informed, Banswara SP Kaluram Rawat and the team of Kotwali police station rushed to the scene to probe the matter.

Pinkesh told the police that Jagdish and his brother used to harass his daughter by passing comments and that she was under mental stress .

SP Rawat said, “The accused have been detained and has been booked under sections of IPC. He is still under police interrogation.” Initial investigation has revealed that it was a case of unrequited love, as the victim and the accused were from the same school and were friends. Jagdish loved the girl but when she declined his proposal, he stabbed her. HTC
