TWO HELD FOR BREAKING CAR GLASSES AFTER BIRTHDAY BINGE

-

Two of the four friends, who damaged window glasses of more than 60 cars in Alwar after getting drunk in a birthday party, were arrested, police said on Thursday.

Narendra Yadav, a student of RR College, invited his friends— Shakti Yadav, Rishikesh Yadav and Ajit Yadav — to celebrate his birthday in Arya Nagar on the August 4 night.

They drank till 1am. Narendra and Shakti then went to the railway station area to get food. After a hotel owner refused to give them food, they had a brawl with him. While returning home, they broke glasses of a few cars parked in Arya Nagar, said additional superintendent of police (city) Paras Jain. “After reaching home, Narendra, Ajit and Rishikesh went on Shakti’s motorcycle with an iron rod and a lathi and started breaking window glasses of vehicles in Scheme Number 8, Panchvati, Sanjay Colony, Alkapuri and Bank Colony,” he said.

Glasses of more than 60 vehicles were broken, he said.

“During interrogation, arrested Rishikesh and Ajit said Narendra had told them that they should do such an activity that people of Alwar would remember his birthday for a long time,” Jain said. Police got CCTV footage from Sanjay Colony, which showed them smashing car glasses.

“We showed the footage to more than 600 people. A student of RR College gave us clue about them. Rishikesh and Ajit were arrested, Narendra and Shakti are still at large,” the ASP said.

Narendra, a B Sc final student of RR college, has earlier a case against him at Aravalli police station. Ajit is a third-year student and Rishikesh a first-year student of same college, Jain said.
