FREE RUN Another robbed of ₹38,000 by bikeborne men in Jaipur

The city fell victim to two new robberies on Monday, even before the memory of two similar incidents from last month, one at a bank in Adarsh Nagar and the other in a finance company in Mansarovar fade from the public mind.

In the first incident, unidentified miscreants fled with ₹8 lakh from a man who was working as a collection agent of Saras dairy in broad daylight. The second loot took place in Sanganer where four miscreants robbed ₹38,000 from a man who was going to deposit the amount in a bank. Both the crimes were committed by bikers who are still on the run.

“The Bajaj Nagar incident took place at around 12:20pm on Monday at a T point in Mahaveer Nagar area. Six men, with their faces covered, riding two motorcycles, confronted a man sitting on the roadside. He was also assaulted with iron rods,” said assistant commissioner of police, Malviya Nagar Dinesh Sharma. The man targeted by the miscreants have been identified as Ajay Singh, who works as a collection agent for the Saras dairy and was counting the cash collected from 82 dairy kiosks at the time of the incident.

“There are a total of 57 collection booths of the Saras dairy and Singh was in-charge of collection of money from one such booth. We are analysing the CCTV footage of the incident where the miscreants can be seen fleeing the spot,” said the ACP. The a case has been registered under section 392 (robbery) of the IPC and further investigation is on in the matter.

The second incident took place near Sanganer stadium where a man was robbed by four bikers. “At around 11am on Monday, the victim who was on his way to deposit the amount in the bank was assaulted by four men on a motorcycle and fled with the money,” said sub inspector Ram Lal from the Sanganer police station. The man has alleged that after robbing him of the money, three of the men escaped in a van while the fourth man rode the motocycle. The accused were allegedly armed with knives and threatened the man.

These incidents have raised serious questions on the deteriorating law and order situation in the Pink City.
