The Jaipur police have arrested three people in the case in which gold worth ₹9 crore was looted from the Mansarovar branch of Muthoot Finance company last month.

The robbery, conducted in broad daylight on July 21, had raised questions on the efficiency of Jaipur police.

Police said the three accused in the case were arrested from Patna district in Bihar on Monday and are being brought to Jaipur. They have been identified as Shubham (21), Pankaj (25) and Vishal Kumar (27), all residents of Bihar, police said on Tuesday.

“Operations are also being conducted to nab their other two accomplices. Preliminary investigation suggests that the three came to Jaipur to conduct the robbery,” Yogesh Dadhich, deputy commissioner of police, south, told HT.

The stolen gold is yet to be recovered, he said.

The CCTV footage shows that during the entire robbery, miscreants didn’t face any resistance from customers and employees present at the scene.

The accused threatened the staff by pointing country-made weapons at them, took out 30 kg gold from the vault and fled.

The robbery has raised questions over the working of the Jaipur police, as on July 20, a similar robbery had taken place at a bank in Adarsh Nagar, in which two miscreants had decamped with ₹15 lakh after threatening the bank officials.
