Minister to lay foundation of Lal Kothi bridge, theme parks today

Rajasthan urban developmen­t and housing minister, Shrichand Kriplani will lay the foundation stone of Lal Kothi overbridge and three theme parks under Dravyavati River project on Monday.

The Jaipur Developmen­t Authority (JDA) will construct an overbridge at Lal Kothi nallah (drainage) with an estimated cost of ₹2.94 crore. JDA Commission­er Vaibhav Galriya said that movement during monsoon gets difficult as water flows above the submersibl­e causeway which even result in a casualty.

The bridge will be 22 metre long and 12 metre wide and have two lanes with footpath on both sides. The bridge, which will also ease traffic movement, whill be completed by May 1, 2018.

“Under the Dravyavati River project, three theme parks will constructe­d— a 3.68 hectare park at Panipech, Sikar road, 2.98 hectare park at Shipra Path, Mansarover and 2.98 hecatre at Bambala Puliya (bridge).

There will be a bird park at Panipech, botanical park at Bambala and Sundar park at Shipra Path. All the three parks, besides having landscapin­g and plantation, will have walkways, sports equipment for children, bench, toilets, CCTV cameras, street lighting and parking.

The parks will be irrigated with water treated at the sewerage treatment plants. The parks will be developed by April 2018.

The state government had awarded the Dravyavati River project to consortium of TATA Projects and Shanghai Urban Constructi­on Group to develop a 47-km long area by the riverside into a landscape and restore the river.

The ceremony on Monday will be presided over by state health minister Kali Charan Saraf.
