Tribal village to launch own website
A village in the tribal belt of Rajasthan will become the first hi-tech tribal village to launch its own website. A committee formed to monitor the development of the village, Gamdi Ahada, in Dungarpur district, had taken up the task to put all the schemes online and has now implemented the project. The website will be launched on September 21.
The website of the village and the gram panchayat is part of the Digital India initiative of the union government. The villagers can now assess data related to welfare schemes online and can also browse the details of the works being carried out by the gram panchayat, an official release stated. The website will also help administrative officials to take stock of the progress of development work in the village without leaving the headquarters.
The website www.gavm.org has its maximum part covered in Hindi for the convenience of the villagers. The website has voters list, address of sarpanch offices, all the projects that were approved in the past three years, action plan, ration card, ODF list, list of people eligible for housing schemes, online applications for welfare schemes and other related information.
An Andriod App will also be designed soon and YouTube videos will also be uploaded on the website to provide relevant information to the villagers. A team is being prepared to run a news portal on the website. The website will also work as an online job portal.
“The website will help in strengthening the Panchayati Raj institution and the scope of the website will be raised in the coming weeks to the tehsil level,” said Gamdi Ahada Vikas Samiti coordinator, Subodhkant Naik.
