MENTALLY CHALLENGED MINOR GIRL GANGRAPED

: An 11-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly gang-raped by two persons in Rajasthan’s Pali district, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the accused Irshad Ali and Mobin Ali somehow lured the girl when she had gone to get her bicycle puncture repaired at their shop on Monday.

They allegedly took the girl to a secluded place in Lambia town and took turns to rape her.

Both the accused were booked for kidnapping, gang-rape and under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said.

Irshad was arrested on Monday while hunt for his accomplice is still on, they said.

Meanwhile, a market in Lambia town remained shut on Tuesday in protest against the rape.

TWO HELD FOR PANCHKULA VIOLENCE

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police has arrested two persons wanted in connection with their alleged role in violence in Panchkula after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in a rape case.

The accused Pal Singh and Baljinder Singh were arrested from Goluwala in Srigangana­gar district following a tip-off, SP SOG Sanjay Shrotriya said.

He said that the duo had played a role in triggering violence in Panchkula. They were handed over to Haryana police for further investigat­ion, he added. PTI
