BOOSTER Health minister flags off mobile dental clinics for kids, they will be stationed at seven divisional headquarters

Health minister Kali Charan Saraf Monday flagged off seven mobile dental clinics that would move across the state and treat children.

The mobile clinics would initially be placed at seven divisional headquarters — Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur.

In the last three years, under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), more than 1.43 lakh children were found to have dental problems, which was 20% of the total children suffering from various ailments.

These children were referred to the district hospitals, as at many primary and community health centres, there are no dentists and even if a dentist was present often there were no chairs and other equipment. The mobile clinics were planned keeping in mind these problems. Dental problems require frequent follow-up and it is difficult for these children to go to district hospitals from their villages.

Saraf said that these clinics will move to various areas and treat children with dental problems.
