Remove squatters, beautify Nathdwara temple town: HC
JODHPUR: THE HIGH COURT HAS ALSO DIRECTED THE TEMPLE BOARD TO PREPARE A PLAN TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN RISALA CHOWK AS A PUBLIC GARDEN
The Rajasthan High Court Tuesday directed the state government, municipal board and Nathdwara temple board to remove encroachments from the main roads, enhance medical facilities at dispensaries and develop public gardens in Nathdwara, the town home to the world-famous Shrinathji temple.
The bench of Justices Govind Mathur and Vineet Kumar Mathur also directed the temple board to examine viability of establishing a national level institution at Nathdwara or at a place nearby for promoting Indian art, especially Haweli Sangeet and Pichhwai painting technique.
“The state government shall get the road from New Cottage to Moti Mahal carpeted with coal tar. No shopkeeper or other person shall be allowed to encroach upon any part of the road. The district administration is required to ensure that no encroachment exists on the roads and that no parking of vehicles takes place in market and no trolley vendors occupy space on roads or footpaths,” said the bench.
The bench further said that the state government shall also “take care” of 120-ft wide approach road to Shri Nathdwara Temple. “The government and the Nathdwara municipal board shall also undertake beautification of the road. Care shall also be taken to have public utilities on the road with adequate staff to keep the same clean. All efforts shall also be made to keep the entire town neat and clean with regular scavenging, at least twice a day,” it further said.
The bench also directed the Divisional Commissioner, Udaipur, to inquire into complaints regarding non- rehabilitation of people who were uprooted in earlier phases of the development projects, specially from the area of Shri Vanmali Mandir. “The detailed report shall be submitted to this court on or before March 3, 2018,” the bench said.
