: Chief minister Vashundhara Raje laid the foundation stone of the entry plaza at Brahma Temple here on Tuesday. Earlier, she had dedicated the newly constructed entry gate at Sawitri Temple to the public.

The construction of the entry plaza is part of plans to develop the Brahma Temple on the lines of the Akshardham temple.

A total of ₹24 crore will be spent, out of which ₹12 crore will be borne by the Ajmer Development Authority, followed by ₹5 crore by Devesthan department and ₹7.5 crore will be spent under PRASAD scheme. “Once the construction of the entry plaza is complete by August 2018, it would make the Brahma Temple one of the most beautiful temples in the country,” said Raje while addressing a large gathering.

“My government has developed and will continue developing religious centres in the state. Our endeavour is to make visits of pilgrims as comfortable and secure as possible,” said Raje. The CM also announced that she will make arrangements for 20,000 pilgrims to tour the country. Raje also announced many more developmental schemes for Pushkar.

Refusing to take the guard of honour, Raje said that she has come to seek Lord Brahma’s blessings and taking the guard of honour wouldn’t be appropriate. She instructed the officials not to arrange the guard of honour ceremony for her at any pilgrimage centre.
