Half marathon in Jodhpur honours martyrs of BSF
The border security force (BSF) organised a half marathon titled the ‘BSF Half Marathon2017’ in Jodhpur on Sunday.
The half marathon was organised to commemorate the valiant deeds and supreme sacrifices made by BSF men in the service of the nation.
The three goals which this event addressed were- run for martyrs, run for public connect and run for unity. Thousands of people from different walks of life including local people and foreign nationals participated in the event.
Officials from various departments along with a large number of students from various institutes also participated in the half marathon to make the mega event being held in memory of brave border-men who sacrificed their lives at the altar of duty, a grand success.
Under the directions of Anil Paliwal, inspector general, BSF Rajasthan Frontier and under the aegis of BSF wives welfare association (BWWA) along with assistance of STC BSF Jodhpur, the event was successfully conducted. The framework of the event was designed by Ravi Gan-

In this event, 21 kilometers of half marathon and 5 kilometers of fun run were held. In the half marathon, around 500 males and 150 females participated and in fun-run, around 1,000 participants took part.
During the event the zeal and enthusiasm of participants and of Jodhpur residents was exemplary one.
Praiseworthy efforts were done by Traffic police and Jodhpur police to make this event a convenient on the main roads of Jodhpur city.
Among the male participants of the half marathon, Constable Jagmal Singh, 131 Bn BSF came first with Anita Choudhary coming first among the female participants.
Among foreign guests, Philippe Schaller, aged 64 years of Geneva Switzerland, also actively participated in this half marathon Run and gave a new international dimension to this event. He completed his run in 1hour and 54 minutes and was presented memento for his remarkable passion and enthusiasm.
