HC asks Jiah’s mother to file affidavit on Pancholi’s plea

The Bombay high court on Wednesday directed Rabiya Khan, the mother of actor Jiah Khan, who allegedly committed suicide, to file an affidavit in response to a petition filed by Sooraj Pancholi seeking to expedite the trial against him. Sooraj has been charged with abetting the suicide of Jiah on June 3, 2013. He had approached the HC, seeking a direction to a sessions court to expedite the trial in the case. He had alleged that Jiah’s mother was resorting to delaying tactics.
