A man raped the five-year-old daughter of his friend in a colony under Govind Nagar police station of Mathura city on Monday evening, police said.

SP Shravan Kumar Singh said the accused Rajendra had drinks at his friend’s house and raped the girl who was playing there.

He escaped when the girl shouted for help. The accused was later arrested by the police.

“A case has been registered by the girl’s mother at Govind Nagar police station under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 5/6 of the POCSO Act,” he said.

The girl’s mother told the police that her husband was not in his senses as he was heavily drunk and she was inside the house when the accused targeted her daughter.

Singh said the accused had been sent to jail after being presented before the court on Tuesday.

“The victim girl has undergone medical examination. The accused has denied the allegations against him and has claimed that he was being trapped,” added Singh. 18-MONTH-OLD RAPED

A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his friend’s 18-month-old daughter when he was babysitting her in New Delhi.

According to police, the girl’s parents left her in the care of the accused, who worked at the same security firm as the toddler’s father and stayed with his family.

“He (the accused) came back after night duty while the girl’s father left home for his morning duty. Her mother and siblings also left (the house). Finding the child alone, the man sexually assaulted her,” said police.

The rape came to light after the girl’s mother returned from work in the evening and found her daughter crying and bleeding.
