AAP members miffed over Vishwas’ absence
Senior members of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Rajasthan are miffed with state in-charge, Kumar Vishwas for allegedly not devoting time and resources to the party.
They wrote a letter to him last week expressing their angst, saying that his “prolonged absence” from the state has deeply damaged the party.
The letter, signed by more than two dozen office bearers, said it has been more than seven months since Kumar was made the in-charge of state. “We lag behind in preparations for the 2018 assembly polls and are fast losing the opportunity to contest elections as a party with mature understanding,” the letter said.
Kumar visited the state only four times since he was entrusted with the job of overseeing the party affairs in the state, it said.
The members also raised the issue of funds saying that not a single rupee has been given to the state unit and even the internet connection of the party’s state office has been severed. “Electricity connection can be cut any day. If any worker visits the office, he finds the office door locked,” the letter said.

They demanded that Vishwas should spend at least three days a week in the state and work for party organisation as promised earlier and resolve the fund related issues. Furthermore, they expressed their discontent with the actions of party supervisor appointed by Vishwas and suggested that organisation work be given to members from Rajasthan.
Ashok Jain, member of Rajasthan AAP discipline committee, confirmed that the letter was sent. “These things keep happening. I’m sure Kumar Vishwas Ji will give new direction to the party in the state.”
Pankaj Sharma, Rajasthan AAP coordinator to respond on his behalf. “Due to delay in some of party’s internal decisions, Kumar Vishwas could not begin work for the first two months, he said.
