UDAIPUR TO HAVE SECOND POLICE TRAINING SCHOOL: OFFICER

Udaipur will soon have a second and Rajasthan’s 10th police training school, said additional director general of police and the director of the Rajasthan police academy Rajeev Dasot.

Addressing a news conference her on Saturday, Dasot said “The state government has sanctioned a budget of ₹56.81 crore for constructi­ng a fully-equipped police training centre at Udaipur.

He further said that 21.5 acre of land has already been allotted to the state police department by the government in 1997.

Dasot inspected the proposed site for the police training centre at Nai village along with officials of different department­s.

“We are planning to develop it aesthetica­lly and for that a consultant has already being appointed who will develop it keeping in view the geography of Udaipur,” said Dasot

The police training centre will be the 12th in the state to be constructe­d in the last couple years and will have 11 class rooms, a commandant’s office and a workshop, he said.

This apart the complex will house a library, a conference hall, a parade ground, living quarters for 25 senior officials and for 80 juniors and a big hall that can accommodat­e more than 200 trainees. This is for the first time that such a big project has been given to the Rajasthan Police Housing Constructi­on Corporatio­n, he said.

A Rajasthan police team will soon visit premier police training academies in of Meghalaya’s Shillong and Mussoorie in Uttarakhan­d to see how the institutes function, Dasot told HT. “We wish to develop a fully functional and well-equipped police training school.”
