A 19-year old boy was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing his 14-year-old friend, fearing that the latter might make his sex video public, the police said, after cracking a month-old case.

The accused, identified as Ganesh, has been booked for murder and eliminating evidence, and remanded in police custody for three days. The police has also added sections under the Prevention of Atrocities Act to the FIR registered on December 20.

The accused had once visited Delhi’s red light district GB Road, and recorded a video of him having sex with a prostitute, Bikaner superintendent of police (SP) Sawai Singh Godara told HT.

The police said Ganesh had shown the clip to the victim, Ajay, who took the memory card with him.

Ganesh was upset with Ajay’s refusal to return the memory card and was worried that his friend might put the clip on social media, the police said, allegedly quoting the accused.

Bikaner police had found a human skull on Bholasar road on November 21 and was investigating the matter for over a month, Niyaj Mohammed, deputy SP, Kolayat said. Almost a month later, the police recovered parts of a skeleton, cloths and a pair of shoes from an abandoned house in Gajner village.

The belongings were identified as those of Ajay by his father who said that the boy was missing since November 14. The boy’s father, Hariram Meghwal, filed a police complaint alleging murder against unknown persons.

The investigating team found that the victim was last spotted with Ganesh. Police detained Ganesh for interrogation, who allegedly revealed confessed to the crime and to hiding the body under fodder in an abandoned house.
