A total of 71006 aspirants from CBSE registered for JEE Advanced 2016, of whom 19566 qualified and 5849 were admitted to IITs. Of 9280 RBSE students who registered fort the exam, 2379 qualified and 768 got IIT admissions.

“Kota has produced a big number of successful candidates over the years; this was the reason why Rajasthan has captured a lion’s share of selections in JEE Advanced,” said Naveen Maheshwari, director of Allen Career Institute, Kota,

More than 1.50 lakh students from all over the country were reported to have taken coaching from Kota institutes last year; almost half of them took coaching for IIT-JEE, and rest for NEET, an exam for medical admissions.
