: The fourth day of the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) saw the screening of ‘Tikli and Laxmi Bomb’ which depicts the story of two sex workers who decide to take over the sex work business from men and deal with their dominance in the trade.

The actresses Vibhavari Deshpande said that the film brings women sex workers out of any fixed frame and shows them like other women. Film director, Aditya Kripalani, on whose book the film is based, dilated on the plight of sex workers at the festival, according to a release from the organizers.

The fourth day of the festival started with a session on why film festivals are important. Anita Nayar, one of the panelists, argued that films can bring about revolutionary changes and film festivals, particularly JIFF, choose great films that have the potential to stir social change.

JIFF jury member Hansjeet Duggal said that films connect people and they learn about various cultures through film festivals. Sanjeev Bhanawat, professor of mass communication at University of Rajasthan, said that JIFF has added academic aspects too by organising dialogues and debates on films.

Besides, more than 130 delegates, including those from Australia, Switzerland, Turkey, Hungary and France, participated in the co-production meet of the JIFF.
