FIR against doctor for changing MLA son’s blood sample
Jaipur police have lodged an FIR against a forensic science lab (FSL) doctor after a state home department inquiry found his involvement in the alleged changing of blood samples of Sidharth Maharia, son of BJP legislator Nand Kishore Maharia, in the course of an investigation.
Sidharth is accused of killing three and injuring five after his BMW car rammed into an auto rickshaw and police PCR van on the intervening night of July 1 and 2, 2016. The incident took place near St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur.
The FIR was lodged by Shastri Nagar SHO Mahaveer Prasad on January 12 on the basis of home department’s report. Dr Vinod Jain, who was heading the FSL team in the case, has been charged with forgery, cheating in the delivery of valuable property, producing false evidence, corruption in making of the report during a judicial proceeding, causing the disappearance of evidence with the intention of shielding the offender, and criminal conspiracy.

which had shown that he was intoxicated. However, the blood sample report submitted in court by the FSL claimed that there was no trace of alcohol in Sidharth’s blood. Faced with the contradiction, the home department ordered an inquiry into the matter. Special secretary Devendra Dixit was in charge of the inquiry.
In the report, Dixit has stated that the blood sample in which alcohol wasn’t found is different from the sample taken on July 2 by the doctors. The report had found clear Dr Jain’s involvement in fudging the samples.
