RSLDC TO START VOCATIONAL COURSES FROM MARCH

: The Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood­s Developmen­t Corporatio­n (RSLDC) will soon starts a year-long national council for vocational training (NCVT) course from March, under the KISMAT scheme, a top official said on Wednesday.

The KISMAT (knowledge integrated skill modules for agricultur­e, horticultu­re, animal husbandry training) scheme is a special initiative taken up by the Rajasthan government.

The scheme is aimed at safeguardi­ng the interests and talented individual­s in agricultur­e, animal husbandry and horticultu­re and to provide skill training to the youth in these trades.

The RSLDC is soon coming up with short-term skill-based training related to KISMAT, which will be provided in the ITIs and skill developmen­t centers across the state, said commission­er and special secretary, department of skills, employment and entreprene­urship Krishna Kunal.

“The department has decided to run year-long NCVT courses in the three verticals of KISMAT– agricultur­e, horticultu­re and animal husbandry-- which will provide training for youngsters who have passed Class 10 and above, under trades such as soil testing, crop technician, horticultu­re and dairy farming,” he said.

Three trades will be started in each ITI in the seven divisional headquarte­rs of the state, including Sanganer (Jaipur), Ajmer (Ajmer), Mavli (Udaipur), Jodhpur (Jodhpur), Jhalawar (Kota), Hanumangar­h (Bikaner) and Bharatpur (Bharatpur), he said.

Besides one NCVT trade mill each will be set up at the government-run ITI in Baran for horticultu­re and one at the ITI in Dholpur for soil testing and crop technician trade.

The department also plans to extend the short-term skill training courses under the KISMAT for the employment linked special training programme and the regular skill training programme schemes for trades such as aquacultur­e workers, greenhouse operators, organic farmers, repair and maintenanc­e and field operation of combine harvesters, power tillers, repair and overhaulin­g of hydraulic systems among others, Kunal said.
