RSLDC TO START VOCATIONAL COURSES FROM MARCH
: The Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) will soon starts a year-long national council for vocational training (NCVT) course from March, under the KISMAT scheme, a top official said on Wednesday.
The KISMAT (knowledge integrated skill modules for agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry training) scheme is a special initiative taken up by the Rajasthan government.
The scheme is aimed at safeguarding the interests and talented individuals in agriculture, animal husbandry and horticulture and to provide skill training to the youth in these trades.
The RSLDC is soon coming up with short-term skill-based training related to KISMAT, which will be provided in the ITIs and skill development centers across the state, said commissioner and special secretary, department of skills, employment and entrepreneurship Krishna Kunal.
“The department has decided to run year-long NCVT courses in the three verticals of KISMAT– agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry-- which will provide training for youngsters who have passed Class 10 and above, under trades such as soil testing, crop technician, horticulture and dairy farming,” he said.
Three trades will be started in each ITI in the seven divisional headquarters of the state, including Sanganer (Jaipur), Ajmer (Ajmer), Mavli (Udaipur), Jodhpur (Jodhpur), Jhalawar (Kota), Hanumangarh (Bikaner) and Bharatpur (Bharatpur), he said.
Besides one NCVT trade mill each will be set up at the government-run ITI in Baran for horticulture and one at the ITI in Dholpur for soil testing and crop technician trade.
The department also plans to extend the short-term skill training courses under the KISMAT for the employment linked special training programme and the regular skill training programme schemes for trades such as aquaculture workers, greenhouse operators, organic farmers, repair and maintenance and field operation of combine harvesters, power tillers, repair and overhauling of hydraulic systems among others, Kunal said.
