Couples can hope to spend quality time with their loved ones without the fear of being attacked by miscreants or political organisations at public places as the Shri Krishna Sena has decided to protect them on Valentine’s Day.

“We have decided to protect youngsters from miscreants or members of different political and social organisations who deliberately target them and misbehave with them on Valentine’s Day,” said national spokesperson of the Sena, Pankaj Mishra.

The Sena has been protecting couples in 45 districts of the state since 2013, but this year, it has decided to take the initiative to all the districts. “A plan has already been chalked out. We will try to ensure there are four-five volunteers at the spots chosen by us. We have asked party activists in all the districts to remain alert, especially in parks, isolated areas as well as public places,” he added.

“They have also been instructed to contact the local police immediately if they come across anything unpleasant,” he added. Mishra said youngsters could call on 8528490153, 9129404273 and 9918735896 for help if they were being targeted.

The Shri Krishna Sena was earlier known as the Rashtriya Love Party. Mishra said the organisation had also decided to help youngsters who wish to tie the knot. “We will try to provide help and support to youngsters who wish to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day,” he said.

He also criticised organisations for harassing, assaulting and humiliating youngsters in the name of Valentine’s Day. “It is disappointing to see that activists of many organisations such as Bajrang Dal, VHP, Shiv Sena assault and humiliate couples on Valentine’s Day. This mindset should change,” he added.
