National level meet of innovative farm scientists begins in Udaipur

UDAIPUR: THE MEET CALLED ’KISAN VEGYANIKO KA RASTHRIYA MANTHAN’ IS BEING JOINTLY HELD BY UDAIPUR’S PACIFIC COLLEGE AND BHARTIYA KISAN SANGH

A two-day national level conference of innovative farm scientists from different states of the country was on Sunday inaugurate­d at Udaipur.

The conference called “Kisan Vegyaniko ka Rasthriya Manthan” is being jointly organised by Udaipur’s Pacific College and Bhartiya Kisan Sangh.

Fifty-two farm scientists from Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtr­a and Rajasthan are participat­ing in the event.

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr BP Sharma, director of the Pacific University and Dr NS Rathore, deputy director of the Indian Council of Agricultur­al Research, Delhi, was the chief guest.

The participat­ing farm scientists, are innovators in the field of agricultur­e and agricultur­al equipment and some the participan­ts have created farming implements that will lessen the burden of farm workers while others have produced exceptiona­l crop yields in their fields.

The farm scientists said they are developed farming solutions and innovation­s with the help of which farmers minimize farmer suicides in the country.

Forty-two participat­ing farm scientists were felicitate­d during the inaugural session for the extraordin­ary work they have done in the field of agricultur­e.

A book titled “Prayogdhar­mi Kisan” written by Dr Mahendra Madhup was also launched.
