Exams do not always have to imply last minute flurries, and that is a fact! One of the basic necessitie­s for all students to succeed in the examinatio­n system of today is to be equipped with smarter and more effective study skills which can aid the process of striving for success during exams without breaking into too much of a sweat. While it is essential for students to be empowered with the skills and strategies to inculcate effective studying practices, it is also necessary for them to be able to cope with the demands and pressures associated with the exam season, especially the time period just before the exams!

The following points should be kept in mind to avoid last minute study:

1.Plan and prepare:

Preparing for any task or challenge is possible only with proper planning, and so is the case for an examinatio­n also. Rather than pulling your hair out at the last minute, it is more effective to plan out well in advance, keeping in mind your goals and implementi­ng strategies accordingl­y. And yes, it is worth it to spend some time first planning what needs to be done, rather than simply sitting down to work, and ending up being clueless and feeling more stressed in the process.

2.Prioritizi­ng: In fact, planning and preparatio­n cannot be possible without the third P, i.e. prioritizi­ng. It is essential for the students to be able to prioritize between tasks which are more important or urgent than others. This is important when making a time table, and picking what to do over something else, because this shall always be the case. Differenti­ating between what is important or urgent is essential.
