The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Sunday expressed concern over banking frauds that have recently come to light, particularly the recent Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud, which involves billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi and diamond merchant Mehul Choksi.

“People take loans and flee the country without making repayment. It’s a serious matter of concern and a challenge before the banking system. The state should come out with a foolproof system to prevent such fraud,” said the newly re-elected general secretary of the RSS, Bhaiyyaji Joshi.

When asked about economic failure of Modi government and derailment due demonetisation, GST implementation, why the Pratinidhi Sabha of the RSS was silent on these serious issues, Joshi said no pressing need was felt for passing resolutions on these issues. “The Sangh Parivar goes by its own assessments and is not influenced by external views.” said Joshi, justifying the view that the RSS was going soft on Modi by not raising the issues.

Joshi, who interacted with the mediapersons, reiterated that the Ram temple would be built at the Ramjanmabhoomi site and the RSS was hopeful for a favourable verdict from the Apex court in this regard.

“The RSS was optimistic about a positive solution through the court of law. We are expecting a positive decision on the land dispute between the two parties over ownership,” he said.
