Golf coaching camp for HIV-affected kids
: A golf coaching camp for HIV positive children was inaugurated on Wednesday at Rambagh Golf Club by Sawai Madhopur MLA Diya Kumari.
Jaipur-based NGO –RaysAasha Ki Ek Kiran is the organiser of the event. Renowned golfer Digvijay Singh and Wing Commander Arun Singh, a prominent name in the golf administration, were also present on the occasion along with of RAYS president Gurinder Virk.
A total of 31 people aged between 11-18 years participated in the camp. Beginning from Wednesday, the camp will be conducted twice in a month.
The aim of the project is to encourage the HIV affected children to take up the sport of golf as well as instil in them a sense of achievement and confidence.
Kumari said this initiative will go a long way in the overall development of the children.
It is important to understand that apart from basic necessities like housing and education, sports is also an inevitable part of a child’s growth, she said.
Digvijay Singh said: “Golf has given me everything. If we can do anything to influence even one more child to take up this sport, I would have done justice to what golf has given to me.”

GOLFER AWARDED
Golfer Dhairya Jain of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya was awarded by The Maharana Of Mewar Charitable Foundation of Udaipur for his outstanding performance.
The 18-year-old was awarded ‘The Maharana Fatehsingh Special Award’, which is a national award given to few selected students from all over India for their exceptional and outstanding performance in various fields .
