Jaipur-based NGO –RaysAasha Ki Ek Kiran is the organiser of the event. Renowned golfer Digvijay Singh and Wing Commander Arun Singh, a prominent name in the golf administration, were also present on the occasion along with of RAYS president Gurinder Virk.

A total of 31 people aged between 11-18 years participated in the camp. Beginning from Wednesday, the camp will be conducted twice in a month.

The aim of the project is to encourage the HIV affected children to take up the sport of golf as well as instil in them a sense of achievement and confidence.

Kumari said this initiative will go a long way in the overall development of the children.

It is important to understand that apart from basic necessities like housing and education, sports is also an inevitable part of a child’s growth, she said.

Digvijay Singh said: “Golf has given me everything. If we can do anything to influence even one more child to take up this sport, I would have done justice to what golf has given to me.”
