DHANBAD: THE SUBDIVISIONAL MAGISTRATE SAID ANY SPORTING EVENT RELATED TO FIRE WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED DURING THE PROCESSION

The Dhanbad district administration has made Aadhaar mandatory for issuance of akhara license during Ramnavami this year.

Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Dhanbad A Mittal said that the akhara committees, whose office bearers would furnish Aadhaar cards of all the committee members, would only be issued licenses for taking out the procession.

During a meeting with different akhara committees in Jharia on Saturday evening, Mittal asked them to submit the Aadhaar cards to local police station that issue licenses to Akharas.

The license for the akhara is given by the respective police stations on basis of last year’s records. The committees will have to apply for licenses by March 23. The licenses would be distributed ahead of Ramnavami.

Ramnavami will be celebrated across the state on March 25. On the occasion, different akhara committees take out procession with flags and flashing traditional weapons.

He also made it clear that any sporting event related to fire would not be allowed during the procession and directed to identify the procession routes in a way that did not disturb religious harmony.

Undertakings would also to be taken from DJs and sound system suppliers as well as those committees that hire them during the festival. Neither filthy songs nor any sloganeering hurting sentiments of other religions would be allowed.

Police authorities have been asked to be keep tab of hooligans so that the festival could be organised peacefully
