people, including four children were killed in a road accident, when a tractor-trolley hit their motorcycle, in Lalsot area of Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Wednesday.
Buddhalal (35), along with four children, was riding a motorcycle when a tractor-trolley, laden with river sand, hit them near Gaurav Path crossroads, said Dausa collector Naresh Kumar Sharma. Dausa district administration on Thursday gave ₹50,000 compensation for each of the five victims, officials said.
Following the incident, the locals and family members of the deceased staged a protest alleging that the police did not take action against the tractor-trolley driver.
BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena, along with officials of the district administration, spoke to the protesters and pacified them by assuring strict action against the driver and police officers if they are found guilty of dereliction of duty.
Meena said three policemen were suspended for being negligent in handling the case and further action will be taken after senior police officials submit a probe report within 10 days.
“We are identifying the policemen who might have been lax and will take action against them,” said Chuna Ram Jat, Dausa superintendent of police.
