Veterans’ rally at Udaipur military station on Sunday
A veterans’ empowerment rally will be organised at Udaipur military station on March 25 as a mark of gratitude and recognition for the selfless service and sacrifices by the veterans towards nation building,
Defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said representatives from the Zila Sainik Board, Rajasthan Ex-servicemen Corporation, Records Offices of Army Regiments, along with officials from the state administration will be present for awareness about schemes for veterans and to resolve their pension related matters.
Assistance will be provided in preparation of ex-servicemen Health Contributory Scheme (ECHS) and CSD smart cards. In addition, a number of corporate houses from hospitality, health, education, security and financing sectors will put up information kiosks on employment opportunities for veterans and their dependents, he said.
A medical camp will also be organised with specialists who will attend to the health related problems of people, he said.
Around 800 veterans, widows and their dependents from Udaipur, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Banswara, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh districts will attend the rally.
This region has traditionally been a major contributor towards recruitment into the Armed Forces and is home to a large number of veterans.
