The survey, conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) last year, covered over one lakh students across all 33 districts of Rajasthan.
Among class 8 students, the average achievement of students from the state in science was 62% while the national average in the category was 44%. In mathematics, language and social science, too, students from the state scored 57%, 67% and 63% as opposed to the national figures of 42%, 57% and 63%.
