New era to start from April in Rajasthan: Arun Chaturvedi

JAIPUR:Social PRIVATE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN EXEMPTED FROM TOLL TAX AFTER THE STATE GOVERNMENT IMPLEMENTE­D ITS BUDGET ANNOUNCEME­NT

justice and empowermen­t minister Arun Chaturvedi on Sunday said from April 1, 2018 a new era will begin in the state. He said earlier too exemption from toll tax was done by previous BJP government and in public interest; the government from Sunday has made state highways free from toll.

Private vehicles have been exempted from toll tax on state highways in Rajasthan after the state government implemente­d its budget announceme­nt from midnight. An official of the state transport department said the announceme­nt of exempting private vehicles from toll tax on state highways was implemente­d from 00.00 hours on Sunday.

“The decision by CM Vasundhara Raje will provide relief of ₹200 to ₹250 crore in a year,” he said. Addressing newsperson­s Chaturvedi said from Sunday the loan waiver of upto ₹2 lakh to SC and ST too has been started. Along with this scheme to provide loan upto ₹2 lakh to hair artist, plumber, rickshaw puller, cobbler has started from today – the government for the same has made a provision of Rs 10 crore.

He said loan of ₹50,000 to 50,000 families under Sunder Singh Bhandari EBC self-employment scheme will be provided at 4% interest rate. “Ambedkar Bhawan in each Municipali­ty and ₹276 crore scholarshi­p provision for financiall­y backward section will prove to be a milestone,” said the minister.

Hitting at Opposition Congress, he said it seems that new era has also started in Congress as now a days there is a fight for ‘free hand’ in Rajasthan. People want to know ‘free hand’ for what?

“Congress has always been ahead in spreading illusions and today also they are doing this work. BJP government and organizati­on in Rajasthan is working in full coordinati­on. We are committed for developmen­t and progress of society,” said Chaturvedi. WITH PTI INPUTS
