BARMER: THE COMPLAINANT SAID THAT WHEN THE

BARMER POLICE DID NOT LODGE HIS FIR AND HE MET THE BARMER SP AND ON HIS DIRECTION, THE POLICE LODGED HIS CASE ON APRIL 5

The father of the Barmer woman, who went missing on March 16, has lodged an FIR with the Barmer Police and alleged that his daughter was harassed and then kidnapped by a Kashmiri man. He also alleged that the police are not taking action in the case.

On the basis of the complaint, a case under section 467, 468, 471 and 384 has been lodged and the investigation started.

On April 5, the girl’s father submitted a complaint with the Barmer city police and said that a year ago his daughter had told him that Gulzar Ahmad Khan, from Kashmir and working at a cafe in Barmer was harassing her.

He then warned Gulzar Ahmad Khan, who promised not to harass her so the family didn’t take any legal action. He alleged that Khan kept harassing his daughter, but she didn’t tell him as she was scared.

According to the complainant, Khan was angry after the warning and hatched a conspiracy. He clicked some photographs of his daughter and started blackmailing her.

The complainant also told the police that after his daughter went missing and he spoke to his elder daughter who told him that Khan had made the girl sign a document and was threatening her. He also alleged that his daughter was being blackmailed and had given money to Khan.

The complainant said that his daughter went missing along with ~2 lakh cash and approx 100 grams of gold.

He also mentioned that Gulzar Ahmad Khan has produced fake documents before the J&K high court and also produced another girl instead of his daughter at the time of registration of the marriage.

He claimed that the dates, which the police claim his daughter converted to Islam and married the Khan, are fake as his daughter was in Mumbai at that time.

The complainant alleged that initially he filed a missing person report but on April 3 he wanted to file an FIR.

He said that when the Barmer police did not lodge his FIR and he met the Barmer SP and on his direction, the police lodged his case on April 5.

On March 16 this year, the girl went missing from her home and the police found out that she was in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The police claimed that the girl had converted to Islam in December last year and married a Khan, keeping her family in the dark.

The Barmer police said that they have received an order from the Jammu and Kashmir high court on March 22 to provide security to the couple so that no harm is caused to them. According to the Barmer police, the court had passed the order on February 20, but it reached Barmer on March 22.

The documents that the Barmer police received on March 22 showed that she had converted.
