Lokayukta seeks report on fires incidents in Jaipur

Taking suo moto cognizance of newspaper reports regarding establishments running in the city without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department, Lokayukta Justice SS Kothari has demanded a detailed report from the additional chief secretary, department of local self government, Rajasthan, on the carelessness of government officials.

The Lokayukta has also taken cognizance of prima facie negligence by the officials.

Justice Kothari said lack of NOCs can lead to a situation capable of causing loss of life and property. Highlighting the newspaper reports regarding fire incidents at Rose Garden marriage hall and VKI Industrial area, the Lokayukta expressed concern over such establishments in business without a NOC.
