JAIPUR: SURVEY FOUND 41% PEOPLE SAID THE PERFORMANCE WAS AVERAGE, WHILE MORE THAN ONETHIRD TERMED THE TENURE AS UNSUCCESSFUL.

Only 15% of the people find the tenure of the present government a successful one, reveals a periodic survey conducted by Gram Gadar, wall newspaper of CUTS International, an NGO.

The survey found that 41% people said the performance was average, while more than onethird termed the tenure as unsuccessful.

Among the reasons stated for unsuccessful term were raised inflation due to inefficient leadership, persistent corruption and a major 38% stating failure in almost every aspect of functioning and spoiled law and order situation.

The views were taken from 1,866 people aged between 40 and 70 from all the districts of Rajasthan .

When asked about the choice of leadership in the state, Ashok Gehlot bagged most votes with 38%, followed by Sachin Pilot with 21% while just 15% preferred present chief minister Vasundhara Raje for another term. 58% people were in favour of Congress while 28% for Bharatiya Janata Party for the next term in 2019.

Unemployment emerged as the major issue, with more than half of the respondents showing concern for it along with demanding to tackle corruption, law and order and high rate of inflation.

The ambitious ‘Bhamashah Scheme’ of the present government gained satisfactory remarks with 31% and 28% justified ‘Public Distribution System’ providing major relief to the disadvantaged and weaker sections of the society.

On the same lines the centre schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna’ soil health card scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Swach Bharat Mission and the overall economic reforms initiated in the recent past failed to get good marks in terms of implementation by state government from close to 50% of respondents.

The expectation of public with the next term starting with 2019 elections include fulfilment of election manifesto promises, timely benefits from the schemes among others.
