Work together to mitigate climate change menace: Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to everyone to work together to mitigate the menace of climate change as a way to pay tribute to the environment on Earth Day. Earth Day, a global event, is observed on April 22 every year. “On Earth Day, let us reaffirm our commitment towards creating a better planet for our future generations. Let us work together to mitigate the menace of climate change. This would be a great tribute to our beloved Mother Earth,” Modi said in a tweet.
The BJP on Saturday released its list of 40 star campaigners for the May 12 polls in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and the party’s chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa will be accompanied by 14 Union ministers, including four who hail from the state, for campaigning. Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goel and Smriti Irani will tour the state.
Ananth Kumar, DV Sadananda Gowda, Ramesh Jigajinagi and Ananthkumar Hegde are the Union ministers hailing from the state who have been named.
The party has also listed three chief ministers, Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Shivaraj Singh Chauhan of MP and Devendra Fadnavis of Maharashtra. The party has named film stars and party leaders Hema Malini, Tara Anuradha and Shruthi as well.
