JAIPUR: THE DRINKING WATER PROJECT WILL PROVIDE DRINKING WATER TO THE PEOPLE OF 120 VILLAGES
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Tuesday laid the foundation stone and dedicated development projects worth ₹1,394 crore to the people of Nagaur district in Rajasthan.
While inaugurating the drinking water distribution system in Jayal village under the Rajasthan Rural Drinking Water and Defluoridation project, Raje said, “We have fulfilled Jayal’s dream of getting drinking water. Around 22 years ago in 1996, our government worked to provide water to Naguar, I am happy that we fulfilled it.”
The first part of the Nagaur Lift Drinking Water Project’s phase-2 will provide drinking water to the people of 120 villages, Raje said.
“Earlier (2003-08) when we had our government, we felt the pain of the people of Jayal and started Matasukh Regional Jalpraday Yojna to provide drinking water. The work would have completed in 2010-11 had our government come to power again. In 2015, we started three works under the second phase of Naguar Lift Scheme – seven towns and 986 villages will receive drinking water under this phase.”
“Our government has left no stone unturned to fulfil promises in all sectors. In four and half years, development works worth ₹10,000 crore has been done. Whereas the previous government did works of ₹4,000 crore,” said Raje.
She said that historic decision has been taken in farmers’ interest by waving off crop loan, benefitting over 30 lakh farmers. Similarly, through cooperative department loan over ₹80,000 crore was provided, which is a record. The CM also distributed scooties and motorised tricycle to the disabled.
PHED minister Surrendra Goyal said Raje has made efforts to resolve water shortage issue in Rajasthan through the eastern canal project and Jal Swalambhan Yojna.
