Home dept wants police to make additional sets of question papers
the recent incident of a CBSE class 10 and 12 question paper leak, the home department has suggested that the police department make additional sets of question papers as a backup for the upcoming constable recruitment.
In the next few months, the state government will begin the recruitment process for police constables – around 13,912 posts will be filled, which will include 5,500 announced in 2017 budget and 8,412 in this budget. The government intends to hold the recruitment for all posts at once.
Around 16 lakh applications have been received till date and another five lakh are expected. The constable recruitment exam will be conducted by police examination recruitment board.
A senior official of the home department, on the condition of anonymity, said that after the recent incidents of paper leak, the home department has suggested that the police make additional set of question papers as a backup. He said that different sets of papers will be sent to seven police ranges and two police commissionerates, and in case of any leak, the backup set can be used.
The CBSE had to hold a retest for the class 12 economics paper almost a month after it was cancelled following reports of the question paper getting leaked leading to a nationwide protest and outrage. A private school teacher was arrested by Delhi Police from Una in Himachal Pradesh earlier in April for leaking the March 26 class 12 economics paper as well as the class 10 mathematics paper.
Sources claimed that the government this week will announce age relaxation from three to four years for the applicants. A file for the same has been moved and soon the cabinet will give its nod. According to the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service rules 1989, the cabinet’s approval is needed for providing relaxation of three years but the government wants to give the opportunity to as many candidates possible for which an amendment in the rules needs to be brought.
