Minor among two caught in case of attempted robbery
Jaipur police on Friday arrested one and detained a minor in connection with an attempted robbery of a jewellery store in Jagatpura. A third accomplice has also been identified.
On May 10, two individuals barged into Mahadev Nagar market’s J D Jewellers and opened fire at the 40-year-old owner Deshraj Yadav. Following the incident, a special team was formed to investigate the matter. On Friday, police arrested 20-year-old Vikram Meena. The delinquent held in the case will be sent to juvenile home. Search for the third accomplice is still on.
“The accused had previously done recce of the targeted shop. They came armed to rob the shop. When the owner resisted, they opened fire at him,” DCP East Kunwar Rashtradeep said. The accused have confessed to the crime, he added.
Rashtradeep said that the culprits had no previous criminal record. They planned the robbery by watching YouTube videos and crime serials on TV.
Police caught hold of the accused by going through the CCTV footage of the shop and the nearby areas.

ROBBERY ATTEMPT FOILED
In another development, police arrested four others and held a minor who were planning to rob a businessman in Pratap Nagar.
The police also recovered one countrymade pistol, two live cartridges, one sword, one knife and other arms from the arrested. Two motorcycles were also recovered. The four arrested have been identified as Harkesh Meena (28), Kunjilal Meena (19), Gaurav Sharma (20) and Yogesh Meena (20). A resident of Sawai Madhopur, Harkesh has 23 cases filed against him.
