Fantasy sports company booked for evading GST

Jaipur zonal unit of Directorat­e General of GST Intelligen­ce (DGGI) conducted a raid on the premises of a company engaged in fantasy sports games on Thursday for evading Goods and Services Tax (GST). As per preliminar­y investigat­ion, the company’s GST liability has been pegged at Rs 7 crore. My Team11 Fantasy Sports Pvt Ltd had voluntaril­y deposited Rs 1.53 crore as part of GST liability Thursday, when their premises in Vaishali Nagar were raided. “The company was being run by Vineet Godara and Sanjeet Sihag. It had been operationa­l for around a year,” an official said. During the raids, DGGI seized records pertaining to evasion of GST.

The deceased, Mukesh Shekhawat (34), was returning home with three friends when their car collided with a divider on the JhalawarBa­ran road and fell into a ditch, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Anantpura police station, Deshraj, said. Shekhawat died on the spot, while his friends emerged unscathed, he said. Police reached the spot to find that only one of Shekhawat’s friends, Ranku, was present there. The other two, Hariom Gujjar and Gurupreet Singh, had fled. Gujjar and Singh are under suspicion as they fled from the spot and remain untraceabl­e, the ASI said. The mobile phone records of the four men are being checked to understand what actually happened, he added. A Forensic Science and Laboratory (FSL) team was rushed to the spot to collect evidence and further investigat­ion is underway.
