: More than 24 hours after a bomb exploded in an Indian restaurant in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga, police continued the manhunt for two persons suspected in the attack that left 15 people injured.

The incident occurred at about 10.30 pm at the Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga where birthday celebrations were in progress. Three persons were seriously injured but were released from hospital on Friday hours after their condition had been upgraded to stable. A dozen others suffered minor injuries. There were 40 persons in the restaurant at the time the incendiary device was detonated in its premises.

A spokesperson for the Peel Region Police or PRP told the Hindustan Times the search for the perpetrators was in progress and they were “still looking for tips.”

Other police forces from across the region are coordinating with Peel investigators in the exercise.

In an update on Friday, PRP said, “Motive is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.”

PRP chief Jennifer Evans had said there was no indication this was either an act of terror or hate crime but did not rule anything out.

Police had earlier posted descriptions and released CCTV images of the two men who were witnessed fleeing the scene.

The explosion occurred late on Thursday evening at the popular local restaurant where tow birthday parties were being celebrated.

The members of the families were people of Indian origin.
