Congress leaders from Delhi to address workers in MBMG programme

: Senior Congress leaders from Delhi will participat­e in the ongoing “mera booth mera gaurav” programme at the assembly level to mobilize party workers ahead of the elections, party general secretary and state in-charge Avinash Pande said

The programme aims to strengthen booth management and connect with people at the last mile, he said on Friday.

Under the programme, the party initially held meetings at the divisional levels and now extended it to the assembly constituen­cies.

The central leadership of the Congress has sent a list of 25 senior leaders, including former CM Ashok Gehlot, Shashi Tharoor, Divya Spandana (chairperso­n of social media), Mallikarju­n Kharge (chairman communicat­ions strategy group), Randeep Singh Surjewala (chairman communicat­ions), Sushmita Dev (president women congress), Lalji Desai (Sewadal chief), G Sanjeeva Reddy, Fairoz Khan (NSUI president), Syed Khurshid Ahmed, Keshav Chand Yadav (president Youth Congress), CP Joshi, Mohan Prakash, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, Zuber Khan among others.

“In order to motivate party workers, we have requested senior leaders to participat­e in the programme,” Pande said, adding that the leaders will speak on subjects, including history of the Congress, communal harmony, achievemen­t of the UPA and previous regime of Ashok Gehlot government.

A letter from state Congress chief Sachin Pilot has been sent to senior leaders for their participat­ion and the probable dates to schedule their presence.

Meanwhile, following the direction of the central leadership, the state party unit has setup a control room headed by vice president Mumtaz Massih at the party office for effective monitoring. An 11- member team will ensure the day to day monitoring of the programme. HTC
