Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, a key accused in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora, was admitted to JJ Hospital here on Friday night after she complained of chest pain, doctors said today. The 46-year-old co-founder of INX media, lodged in Byculla women’s jail since her arrest in 2015, was brought to the facility at 11.30 pm with a “history of chest pain and discomfort”, S D Nanandkar, J J Hospital dean, said. Mukerjea underwent a series of medical tests after she was admitted to the critical care unit (CCU) of the hospital, he said.

The death of 21-yearold Kaiser Amin reportedly after he was hit by a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle threatens to disrupt peace in Srinagar and comes at the time when the Jammu and Kashmir government was planning to ask the Centre to extend the ceasefire beyond the holy month of Ramzan.

The ceasefire was hailed by all the mainstream politicians and by the civil society, with a rider that it should bring down the civilians killings leading to a meaningful dialogue. Since the onset of ceasefire there were four attacks on the Army that left one soldier dead and four others injured were reported, apart from killing of two civilians in separate incidents.

“To sustain ceasefire, one has to break the vicious cycle of violence, which is difficult,” said Prof Noor Ahmad Baba, political expert and former Dean School of Social Sciences at Central University Kashmir. “The government has to show that restraint being the responsible party. And at the same time they should go ahead and start dialogue,’’

The incident has dramatically turned after the incident.

It was for the first time, in the recent past that powerful separatist leadership didn’t set any condition for initiating dialogue with the Centre.

“Downtown has been put under curfew, internet snapped while I have been placed under house arrest barring me from addressing a rally on occasion of Jung-e- Badr. All this while we lost another 21-year-old man after he was mowed to death by a CRPF vehicle,’’ Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said.

However, the incident resulted in clash between protesters and security forces during Kaiser’s funeral procession in downtown Srinagar in which some locals received minor injuries.

Security forces used tear smoke shells to quell angry protestors, who were pelting stones and raising anti-India slogans. Police reported stone pelting on security forces in the old city area also as it imposed restriction on movement of people on Saturday and suspended internet services in the city.

The incident triggered war of words between former chief minister Omar Abdullah and union minister Jitendra Singh. Omar tweeted: “Earlier they tied people to the fronts of jeeps and
