The panel headed by VS Oberoi, a former secretary of the ministry of human resource development, and comprising seven others, was formed in April after the Class 10 maths and Class 12 economics papers leaked, triggering criticism of the way the board held exams.

A re-test was held for Class 12 students, but CBSE decided against one for Class 10.

The HRD had tasked the committee with reviewing all aspects related to security checks built in to the examination system to ensure that question papers reach the examinees without being tampered with. The panel was also asked to assess potential points of weakness in the present system of transporting question papers from the printing presses to the exam halls. also dying. “People on both sides are dying. DGMOs should meet again and talk. And the shelling and bloodshed on borders should be stopped,” she added.

Pakistan has violated the ceasefire along the LoC and the international border close to 1,100 times this year, resulting in the death of over 35 people. On the other hand, Pakistan claims Indian forces violated the ceasefire over 1,050 times, resulting in nearly 30 deaths. At least 12 people including two BSF men were killed in intense Pakistani shelling for nine straight days from May 15 to May 23 in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts, which had displaced more than 100,000 people from the border areas, prompting the state government to set up relief camps.

Yadav said if the people had made up their mind to “make Rahul the PM, no one can stop him”. “His logic is not wrong. Whoever is the largest party— like the BJP in 2014—has claimed the Prime Minister’s post. If some other party emerges as the largest, they too, can claim. Where is the problem to make such a claim?” he said.

On the issue of leadership in the Opposition ahead of the 2019 elections, the RJD leader said all parties needed to be respected and given their due share in “seat adjustments”.

Scindia said the Congress’s state unit had studied 101 constituencies and found nearly 2.5 million voters with multiple votes in the same polling booth. “Nearly 12 % voters are fake and the gap between the Congress and the BJP (vote shares, in the last election) was 9% ,” he said.

The Congress has demanded that the state officials who are found responsible for registering fake voters should be prosecuted under the law and a fresh electoral roll should be prepared. “There should be action against the officials under Section 32 (of The Representation of the People Act),” Scindia, the Guna MP demanded.

The act stipulates up to two years in prison for officials found in breach of official duty in electoral roll preparation.

The EC had earlier said the state’s electoral rolls would be ready by July. The Congress has sought an extension of the deadline to fix the problem and also that officials found guilty of registering bogus voters be kept away from electoral duties in the future.
