3 BSF personnel from state among 4 martyred in J&K
Three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from Rajasthan were martyred during firing from cross-border firing by Pakistani troops in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje paid condolences to the families of the martyrs. In a message, she said the martyrs had lost their lives while serving their country and securing our border. They have made the state and nation proud. She prayed for strength to the families to bear the loss.
BSF assistant commandant from Bharatpur, Jitendra Singh, ASI Ramniwas Yadav from Sikar and Hansraj Gurjar of Alwar were among four personnel martyred in Pakistani firing in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu late on Tuesday night.
Their bodies arrived in Jaipur on Wednesday and were taken to their respective villages where the cremation will be held with full state honours on Thursday.
Singh (32), is survived by his wife Renu Singh and 4-year-old son Yashvardhan. His family lived with him in Jammu. His parents Samundra Singh and Sumitra Devi live in Jaipur with his brother Deepak who owns an electronics shop.
Singh’s parents had returned to Jaipur on Wednesday after meeting their son in Jammu. Singh hailed from Salempur Kala village under Weir sub-division of Bharatpur.

Ratan Singh, brother-in-law of martyr Jitendra Singh, said that he had come to Bharatpur a month back to take his wife and son to Jammu. “We received information about the incident morning on Wednesday. We are shocked and deeply grieved.”
He said, “Jitendra was very friendly and was more of my friend than my brother-in-law. He had got a job in Assam for recruiting personnel for security in a private company, but refused to join. Jitendra wanted to serve the country.”
Hansraj Gurjar (28), is survived by his wife, a three-yearold daughter, a one-month-old son, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Local Congress MLA Shakuntala Rawat said that the family had organised a function on June 15 on the occasion of his son turning one month at their village Mungalpur in Bansur tehsil.
She said that he died when he was going to bring the injured soldiers from the border along with three friends. They all died in Pakistani firing.
Gurjar had joined the 62 Battalion of Border Security Force in 2011.
ASI Yadav belonged to Dabla village in Neem Ka Thana tehsil of Sikar district.
A pall of gloom descended over the village as news of his demise reached his family and villagers.
Fire broke out at CT operation theatre in Sawai Man Singh hospital, Jaipur at 5am on Wednesday.
Hospital spokesperson DR SS Yadav said that the fire broke out at CT operation theatre due to short circuit.
The fire brigade was immediately informed and it took around 30-45 minutes to douse the flames. As a preventive measure, the patients at the 12-bedded intensive care unit near the OT were immediately shifted to another place and after around three hours, were shifted back to the ICU. He said equipment and OT table have suffered damaged due to the fire.
Hospital superintendent Dr DS Meena said that the incident took place at around 5.15 am and three fire tenders doused the fire.
He said a four-member committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the mishap.
