JK LONE HOSPITAL, SEEK ARREST OF CULPRITS WITHIN 24 HOURS
Resident doctors at hospitals attached to Sawai Man Singh Medical College on Friday boycotted work for two hours (from 8-10 am) demanding the arrest of culprits, who allegedly manhandled resident doctors at JK Lone Hospital.
The resident doctors threatened an indefinite boycott from Saturday if the culprits are not arrested within 24 hours.
Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) president Dr Ravi Jakhar said, “We are demanding the arrest the culprits who misbehaved with resident doctors on duty on June 8 at JK Lone hospital after the death of a child.” He said on June 10, around 50 relatives of the deceased once again entered the ward and misbehaved with the doctors.
The hospital administration and police were informed about the incident on time, but till date, no action has been taken, due to which resident doctors are being forced to work in fear and there is resentment among them.
JARD joint secretary Dr Mukesh Mahla said if the culprits are not arrested under medical protection act, residents doctors will be forced to go on indefinite boycott from Saturday.
He said on Friday resident doctors remained on duty at the emergency and ICU so that patients do not suffer, but if demand is not met by Saturday, it will be hospital administration’s responsibility.
Dr Mahla said around 13001400 residents at various hospitals attached to the medical college boycotted work for two hours on Friday.
He also said that FIR was not lodged against the culprits after the incident; it was lodged only on Thursday night at Moti Dungari police station.
Dr Mahla said JK Lone hospital administration lodged the FIR on behalf of Dr Jakhar, whereas it should have been lodged by the superintendent of the hospital.
“After raising an objection, the office of the principal wrote to the JK Lone superintendent to make the correction in the FIR by removing the name of Dr Jakhar and lodge it on behalf of the superintendent,” he added.
